Postgraduate Certificate of Applied Anthropology

Overview:

The Postgraduate Certificate is a shorter version of the MAA. The Certificate is made up of four coursework units and does not involve a research project.

The PG Cert is suitable for students who would like to gain some background in Applied Anthropology without the longer commitment involved in doing the Masters, or who would like to undertake primarily coursework-based study. The PG Cert may also provide a suitable entry into the Applied Anthropology program for students who are unsure if they would like to proceed to the Masters.

Structure:

Credit points: 16

Commencement: March, August

Length of candidature: 0.5-1 years (1-2 semesters) full-time, 1-1.5 years (2-3 semesters) part-time

Attendance: full-time or part-time; most units meet in the evenings, 6-8pm

Core units:

There are no core units. However, three of the four units must be from the range ANTH800-840.

Electives:

Student may complete a maximum of one unit from the list of approved elective units from other disciplines.
